Happy Veterans Day
Today, as we honor the veterans of our armed forces, and a veteran myself, I would like to share my father-in-law’s discharge letter. Charles served as an army medic, landed at Normandy, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and then returned home to Georgia where he was a successful businessman, devoted husband and father.
It was a different time. But the words of this letter are eerily prescient.

A lot of what is going on doesn’t make sense to me. This very well researched book by a well respected historian traces the conflict of democracy versus property into the conflicts that play out in the news every day. Highly recommended.
Post-Paris Apocalypse
I’m feeling a mix of intense emotions today with the president’s announcement that he is cancelling the Paris Accords. My sadness, disappointment and anger stem from many sources and levels. The facts that underlie our outsize responsibility.
